This week has gone by soooo slow!! I'm glad it is now friday though, i thought i would never make it :P. Wednesday was a rough day, i had that crazy thought that Marc would die soon and i would be a widow while still being married for a short period of time (i hate that thought!). He got his ultrasound and of course it made no sense, unless you're a doctor, we googled and wikied it and the only thing we got from it was that his vein is recanalized. Which is good. But after that it said something about having post thrombotic signs. I still have no clue what that means for Marc, one thing i found was an abstract talking about how peoples lives are diminished after only 2 years......depressing much?! Needless to say it put a stink in the rest of my day. Marc most likely noticed something was up.
On Thursday he went for his blood test and then got called to go see the doctor. What Marc didn't tell me is that this is not the hematologist but just a doctor that changes the dosage of meds and what not. BUT he is seeing the hematologist in early September :P. I wish i knew that before because i was stressing out in the doctors room yesterday, i was all ready to stay until she answered my questions but she kept the door open (can't blame her, no air conditioning and the place was HOT) and there was a woman there sighing with frustration the WHOLE time we were talking to the doctor. She told the sighing woman to calm down and sit down....that sorta helped. Anyways she told Marc he could wear a knee high compression stocking (he is beyond excited about this) and he is on a lower dosage of cumadin because his INR was 3.3. She said it was high but it wasn't bad and to just take one and a half pills on Tuesday and not Friday. It is normal for the INR to jump around. The first few months it was everywhere and they eventually got the right dosage and for quite awhile it stayed at around 2.5 or so. Since it went up he just takes less cumadin and it will level out again.
Back to those stockings. I found out from Marc that our insurance company only covers 50$ of the stocking price (they are about 150$ for Marc) ONCE A YEAR. Ummmm, sorry but these are stockings he NEEDS to wear and wearing them everyday all day destroys them pretty fast. They are starting to rip and he needs new ones. I don't know what the insurance company was thinking when they decided to only cover 50$ once a year but I'm getting on the phone with them to get answers.
We are going to go see the price of the knee highs this weekend and then go from there. I mean 150$ isn't horrible but it does suck especially when we have to buy these every few months. Anyways enough of that.
I am going to try to call my cellphone company today and tell them i might not be renewing my contract (i am totally not renewing it but if i tell them that i could loose my number, i'm going to let Telus do that part). I am so EXCITED to tell them that, it will feel oh so good. If they don't put up a "fight" i will be annoyed :P
