an ounce of prevention

<bitter rant>

On Thursday, while researching the results of my ultrasound, I discovered that it's standard procedure to prescribe anti-embolic compression stockings within a month of diagnosis of a DVT -- and it's often done within the first week, and can prevent post-thrombic reflux.  (I was prescribed stockings two months after diagnosis).

In other words, Hawkesbury General Hospital, thank you for the irreparable vein damage.
