About a year ago..or maybe more..I tried to make stir-fry using the wok we got as a gift at our wedding. At first it seemed ok but then it all went down hill. It was horrible, whatever it was I made. The sauce was disgusting, the meat not cooked and the veggies soggy. Marc cooked the meat some more and said it was ok....he didn't make me feel any better. My dinner was a bottle of wine, while not healthy or nutritious it was good.
So I washed the wok and put it back on top of our cupboards, and there it sat collecting dust until tonight. I mustered up the courage and told myself I could do this. I waited for Marc to get home in case I needed him to save me from myself. I cooked the veggies and some rice noodles in pots and then moved the veggies to the wok to cook some more. The sizzling startled me but Marc said it was the point of stir-fry, so on went the apron and I cooked the veggies! Then I added sauce sand simmered it, once all cooked I put the mix on the rice noodles and we ate. It was actually pretty good, the sauce wasn't as great as I thought it was but that's ok I just know not to buy it again!
I think I shall make this again soon, it was healthy feeling and overall tasty :)
This weekend we are having my youngest brother up and that will be fun. It is also Easter weekend so Marc has 4 days off :). I have to get a blood test on Friday and I would rather stay in bed..I hate needles!
You make me wish I had a wok. I love stir fry! My mother use to make it for us when we were kids. I may have to invest in a wok soon and give it a whirl!
